Who We Are

Wayside Middle School, home of the Wildcats, is a supportive and student-centered campus in Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD.
We serve students from a variety of local neighborhoods, creating a learning environment where academic growth, personal development, and meaningful relationships are prioritized. Recognized as both a Purple Star Campus and a National Forum Schools to Watch Campus, Wayside offers strong programs in academics, athletics, and fine arts, and provides an inclusive, high-achieving environment where every student is encouraged to discover their potential and thrive.
Our Mission
Wayside Middle School exists to foster a lifelong love for learning that prepares our students for their future by partnering with faculty, staff, and the community to build relationships that guide students to realize their full potential for success.

Every student. Unique. Limitless.
Our Points of Pride
Wayside Middle School is grounded in values that support student growth, strong relationships, and a positive school culture.
These principles guide how we connect, teach, and learn every day:
- We build relationships with students and one another to make a lasting impact
- We honor the uniqueness of each student and treat them with dignity
- We maintain a supportive campus community
- We foster a positive growth mindset that promotes lifelong learning for all
- We provide opportunities for growth and student success while honoring effort and mistakes
Our History
Wayside Middle School was established in 1964, and the current building—constructed in the 1960s—was named after the former Wayside School District, one of two that preceded the creation of Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD.
In celebration of its 60th anniversary, the campus is entering a new chapter with a modern facility currently under construction just south of the existing school. The new campus is scheduled to open in January 2026 and will continue the legacy of excellence for future generations of Wildcats.
